We kept only games that are free, start in the browser without a download or a sign-up, and show no ads, then ordered them by what players say: itch.io ratings, Reddit reception and how long people have kept playing. That ruled out some famous names: PokéRogue and Pokémon Auto Chess need an account before you can play, and Pokémon Showdown shows ads. We never list ROMs, ROM hacks or emulators.
