# Anamorph

> Orbit a cloud of floating shards until, from one angle, they snap into a picture.

Anamorph is a free daily 3D puzzle where hundreds of floating shards look like nothing until you find the one viewpoint from which they form a picture. You drag to orbit the cloud, get three locks a day, and need no download or account; a new puzzle arrives at midnight UTC.

## Why Anamorph is on Unfound

The developer's launch post was a top post of the quarter on r/playmygame, and the puzzle itself, a 3D take on anamorphic street art, is unlike any other daily we list.

What players say:
- Top post of the quarter on r/playmygame · 24 upvotes: https://www.reddit.com/r/playmygame/comments/1vzok7p/anamorphosis_is_interesting_so_i_made_a_puzzle/

Highlights:
- One new puzzle a day at midnight UTC, the same shape and viewpoint for every player
- Three locks a day, with one tradeable for a hint
- Free-play mode with easy, medium and hard puzzles that don't affect your streak

Keep in mind:
- Needs WebGL; the FAQ says some privacy extensions and older devices block it
- Streaks live in your browser, not an account, so clearing site data or switching devices resets them

## About Anamorph

Drag anywhere to swing around the cloud or rise and fall above it; on a keyboard the arrow keys nudge, and holding Shift makes them finer for the last adjustments. The shards glow as you get close but never say which way to turn, and the answer is a small target about four degrees wide. You get three locks per day, one of which can be traded for a hint as long as it is not your last, and a wrong lock tells you only that it was wrong. Solving keeps a streak going; missing a day or running out of locks resets it. A four-round tutorial teaches the idea, and a free-play mode offers unlimited easy, medium and hard puzzles that never touch your streak.

What sets it apart is the construction. Each puzzle is built backwards from its answer: every shard is pushed away along a line from the solving viewpoint and scaled so it stays the same size on screen, the same trick as street art that only works from one spot on the pavement, with fake shards added to mislead. Everyone in the world gets the same shape and viewpoint each day, so results are comparable, and the developer says it works on phones as well as desktops. It suits daily-puzzle regulars and anyone who likes perspective art.

## FAQ

### Is Anamorph free?

Yes. It plays free in the browser with no download and no account.

### How many tries do you get in Anamorph?

Three locks per day. One can be swapped for a hint, as long as it isn't your last lock, and running out resets your streak. The tutorial gives unlimited tries.

### Can I play old Anamorph puzzles?

No. Each daily puzzle exists only for its day. A free-play mode offers unlimited puzzles in easy, medium and hard that don't count towards your streak.
