About Dreadbleed

You fight waves of nightmare creatures in a dark-fantasy arena, aiming with the mouse (an autoshoot option is in the settings) and moving with the keyboard or a controller. After each wave you visit an altar where perks are paid for in blood, and one greedy purchase can leave you with a single hit point going into the next round. Updates in September and October 2026 added ten new waves and a new weapon.

The tension comes from a trade-off the developer is openly tuning: players want to hoard HP, and the design pushes you to spend it. It is pitched at survivor-like fans who want a run to feel like a gamble rather than a steady power curve, and the developer is asking players where it gets boring to decide what gets fixed or built next.

Who is Dreadbleed for?

  • Fans of Vampire Survivors who enjoyed short, chaotic runs where you grow absurdly powerful against endless hordes.

Dreadbleed FAQ

Is Dreadbleed free?

Yes. The demo is free to play in the browser on itch.io, and the Windows and Linux downloads are free too. The full game is headed to Steam.

How do upgrades work in Dreadbleed?

Every upgrade at the altar between waves costs HP. Spending makes you stronger but leaves you closer to death, and the developer says one greedy purchase can end a run.

Should I play Dreadbleed in the browser or download it?

Both are free. The developer says the browser build is fine for a quick try but recommends the Windows or Linux download for smoother performance and fullscreen.
